Concrete for Acreage Living
Concrete contractors in Rainbow Valley build for a different kind of property. This is rural, unincorporated county land south of the Gila River, a short drive from Goodyear. Apart from two subdivisions, Grand View Ranches and Grand View Ranches II, Wikipedia describes parcels of several acres, working dairies, and plenty of households with horses, goats and chickens. Concrete here supports barns, shops, equipment and long driveways, not just patios.
Slabs that work
Shop and barn floors. A thick, reinforced slab for tractors, trucks and stalls. Slope toward doors or drains makes washing out easier.
Equipment and trailer pads. Horse trailers and hay storage need a firm surface that does not rut.
Wash racks. A sloped slab with a rough finish gives horses footing and sends water away.
Manufactured home pads and patios. Wikipedia notes most homes are mobile homes. A patio or covered entry slab adds living space.
Water and access
In November 2025, AZFamily covered storms that put Waterman Wash over Narramore Road, cutting off a main way in and out. County officials pointed to a drainage master plan for the area dating to 2011. For concrete, that means paying attention to where water runs on your lot. We site and slope slabs to keep stormwater moving past, not pooling against buildings, and we look at whether a driveway crossing low ground needs a different approach.
A growing rural area
The first homes went up between 1970 and 1999. Newcomers started arriving in large numbers around 2000, and about half of today's residents moved in since then. Population density is about 34 people per square mile. Owners with a home and open land often build out shops and pads over time. We can phase work so the most important slab comes first.
County rules
Rainbow Valley is unincorporated, so Maricopa County handles permits. County rules require a permit before work in county right-of-way, which can affect where a driveway meets the road. We check that and any other requirements for your project.
Phasing work on a large property
Acreage owners often build out over years: first a pad for the home and a driveway, then a shop slab, then a barn or wash rack. We can plan the layout up front so future slabs line up with today's, drainage works across the whole site, and the concrete truck can still reach the back of the lot after the first buildings go in. Planning the order ahead also helps avoid tearing up finished concrete to run power or water to a building later, since conduit and sleeves can be set before we pour.
Hauling and long driveways
On multi-acre lots, concrete trucks may have to travel some distance off the paved road. Soft shoulders and dirt drives can rut under a loaded truck. We look at the route during the estimate and, if needed, plan a pump setup closer to the road. For long driveways, we can pour in stages and leave a gravel section for later. We note any of this on the quote. Long hauls are planned around the concrete's working time.

Rainbow Valley Questions
How thick should a barn or shop slab be?
Thicker than a patio and reinforced, sized for the heaviest vehicle or equipment. We spec it on the quote after learning what will sit on it.
Can you pour on a lot that floods during storms?
We site and slope slabs to move water away and avoid the lowest ground where possible. We look at drainage on the visit.
Can a concrete truck reach the back of my acreage?
Usually, if the ground is firm. We check access during the estimate and plan a pump if needed.
